NEW WORSHIP GATHERING TIMES: June 6-7

STARTING THIS WEEKEND (JUNE 6–7) As we enter into Phase II and in anticipation for the relaunch of our in-person worship gatherings (weekend of June 20-21), we’re shifting our Sunday worship gathering times beginning THIS WEEKEND (June 6-7).

HOLY COMMUNION We’re asking you to purchase some grape juice and bread/crackers in advance so you can have the elements ready in your home this weekend while you participate in one of our four LIVE online gatherings.

Another option is to make your Communion bread!
Enid Akers Perez has put together a recipe video for Braided Challah if you (and your family) would like to create your communion bread from scratch! Follow along for a step by step instruction of how to prepare, knead, bake and serve the challah in the video below. You can also find a printable recipe here:

June 1: Monday Minute (Vessel)

June 1, 2020

Sin is the root; injustice is the fruit. We’ll begin to deal with both when we repent of our sin and leverage the platforms we’ve been given, for the glory of God and the sake of the world!

May 29: First Look

Pastor Bobby Brooks will be giving his last message at University Carillon at all gatherings this weekend.

Three words to encourage you during this time of transition: strength, assurance and imagination.

You can watch our Online Gatherings on our website at UCUMC.net/LIVE or Facebook LIVE.

Kids Ministry Subscription Box Activity: Passover Bread

May 28, 2020

Today’s family activity: Passover Bread

So, I didn’t think I could ask you to cook meat on a fire (unless your parents do it for you). And I don’t think any of us want to eat bitter greens (certainly not me). So, I thought you could try out making a traditional Passover unleavened bread. Here is the link to the recipe: https://www.alyonascooking.com/unleavened-bread-matzah/. If you don’t like that one, or don’t have the ingredients, there are a ton of different recipes online. If you haven’t noticed, we usually do at least one food activity a week. Basically, I think about food all day long!

Kids Ministry Subscription Box Activity: Glow in the Dark PlayDoh

May 27, 2020

Today’s family activity: Glow in the Dark PlayDoh

Now, I know you all may not have glow pigment laying around BUT you can buy it pretty cheaply on Amazon, and this stuff is too cool not to try at some point. You can find the recipe at the link below: https://buggyandbuddy.com/glow-dark-playdough-recipe/

If you aren’t able to pull that one off, I found a great list of flow in the dark activities! Take a look! https://www.brightstarkids.com.au/blog/playing/glow-in-the-dark/

Kids Ministry Subscription Box Activity: Check-In & Leapfrog

May 26, 2020

Today’s family activity: Check-In and Leapfrog

First of all, we are trying to check-in to see who is still doing these activity guides. If you are still using these, please shoot Jesse a quick email at jessebachman@ucumc.net (Pretty Please!)

Second, in honor of the frog plague, play a good game of leapfrog somewhere inside or outside of your house. Also, if you look online there are some interesting (and mostly safe) variation of leapfrog to try!

May 22: First Look (Contemporary & Traditional)

We’re here to give you a first look into the scripture we’re sharing this weekend. Take some time to prepare and pray through God’s Word which is alive and well!

This weekend’s scripture is from 1 Timothy 4:6-16 (NLT). You can find that here: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1+Timothy+4%3A6-16&version=NLT
