My faith story: I am living Ànto my
name (Timothy means honoring God), and so Paul¡s
writings to Timothy hold a special place in my
life as I seek to grow in my understanding of
the Gospel and how to teach such truths accurately,
and more importantly, how to live out the teachings
of the Lord in my daily life. Tracey (my wife)
is a formative influencer in my life as she walks
with me and encourages me in my life with God.
What brought me to UCUMC: Dr.
Burrell Dinkins was instrumental in bringing
me and my family here. He connected us with Pastor
Joe and Pat (who are awesome), and we are very
grateful for this new connection and season of
life in ministry!
What I like most about my ministry here: I
really enjoy being able to study the Word of
God with the purpose of expounding on it in the
context of adult discipleship. I also love working
under the leadership of Pastor Joe and teaming
with my my wife in adult community life development.
What¡s my greatest challenge: My
greatest challenge is discerning what God would
want in ministry rather than launching out in
my own strength to do what I think is best. Sometimes
service in Christ¡s name can be the greatest
obstacle to being centered in Christ.
What¡s in my iPod: The Hobbit
by J.R.R. Tolkien, Revolution of Character by
Dallas Willard, It Came from Within by Andy Stanley.
What do I like most to do on my day
off: Spend time with my wife and kids
at the beach.
Three words I¡d use to describe yourself: husband, father, laughter
Family info: Tracey, my beautiful wife of 12 years; Chatham, my life-filled son; Molly, my fire-cracker daughter.
