Thank You

As 2019 comes to a close, we’re amazed with the generosity of this church. We are deeply grateful to be a church of multiple worshiping communities, all sent with the same mission: to help anyone and everyone become followers of Jesus. As the body of Christ is made up of many parts, so too is our mission. While we strive to have many avenues of impact throughout our community, University Carillon is focused on one thing: Jesus and the people He was sent to save.

Over the past year, this mission has come to life through University Carillon in so many ways (see below). Bible studies, gatherings, events, camps, communities (and more) will be wrapped up in gratitude and given back to God for His glory.

Thank you for helping us meet our December 2019 Year-End Giving goal. Your faithfulness in joyful giving has allowed us to finish 2019 in a healthy way, and ready to begin strong in 2020. While our plans for this next year are exciting, we’re thrilled to put those in the passenger seat and let His designs drive us forward.

As we’ve said earlier, we’re amazed with the generosity of the church that calls University Carillon their home. Thank you … and let’s begin.

GOAL: $310,000

MTD: $332,376

Ready to Begin

As this year comes to an end, we are eager to step into all God has for us in 2020. While there’s a sense of excitement in the air, we don’t want to rush into the new year without recognizing some of the incredible things we’ve accomplished together. In 2019 we…

  • hosted 1,096 kids & youth at summer camps
  • sent 35 people on mission to the Dominican Republic
  • packaged 60,000 meals with Rise Against Hunger

… among other impactful events. And we couldn’t have done this without your incredible faithfulness in prayer, participation and financial gifts.

As we reflect over this past year, we can’t help but start dreaming for the next, and we want to be ready to begin strong in 2020.

Upward Soccer

January 2019

One of our goals two years ago was to reach more than 200 families through our Upward program (which we’ve surpassed!). The program is home to soccer and basketball teams for over 800 kids, age 4–8th Grade in addition to the many coaches and volunteers (it’s hard to find parking on game day!).

IF: Gathering

March 2019

Our Women’s Ministry grew a lot this past year through Bible studies, small groups and conferences like IF: Gathering. While scripture is the basis of the ministry, there were social events, like Dessert & Paint Nights, throughout the year to invite new members into the community.

Rise Against Hunger

May 2019

Our church prepped and packaged over 60,000 meals for people in need through the organization Rise Against Hunger. To get to that number, our church participated in the “Won by One” campaign and collected quarters for a month to raise the funds. The LOFT Kids (1st-5th grade) raised $1,800 for the cause.

VBS (Summer Camps)

June 2019

ROAR! VBS was home to over 300 kids to sing, dance, play, learn and more. The 12 summer camps hosted 1,096 kids and youth on our campus to share the gospel, create lasting friendships and invest in the future of the church.

Dominican Republic

July 2019

This year, University Carillon sent 35 people on mission to the Dominican Republic through two different ministries: Jackie’s House and Sucher Ministry. Among many accomplished projects, long-standing friendships were formed and the Church grew in diversity.

Testimony Night

July 2019

Storytelling is one of the most powerful mediums of communication—it points to truth and paints a vivid picture of an event or movement. Scripture uses this form to share Biblical truths, and Jesus even spoke in parables. Considering it’s power, we wanted to unleash that in people’s lives with their testimony.

Bonneville Elementary

July 2019

Nearly 100 students received backpacks and school supplies during this year’s Back to School Bash. Many also got haircuts and a chance to “shop” for free clothing and shoes in “Mim’s closet.” Bonus: Realizing the volunteer helping you pick out your supplies is your classroom Reading Buddy!

Young Adult Bible Study

August 2019

One of the core values of our church is being in the Word. One of the best ways this is possible is through Bible studies and small groups. The Young Adult Bible Study was created this year to reach a demographic of post-college individuals. University Carillon has options of small groups for all ages.

Community Pantry

September 2019

About 10 times a year, church goers (both members and visitors alike) are provided with a blue Community Pantry reusable bags to fill up with nonperishable food items. The nonperishable food that is donated provides meals for about 80 homeless or in-need families a week in the local Orlando area through Faith UMC’s food pantry in Orlando.

Serve Day

October 2019

We partnered with 4 other local churches to serve the Palm Valley community (yard work and pressure washing). Serving is vital to the DNA of our church through various serve days, mission trips, summer camps and Converge—a week-long local youth mission trip with over 120 kids and 3,456 hours of service.

Fall Festival

November 2019

This was a completely free outreach event to our church and the community that surrounds it that included a live music, food, desserts, crafts, games, football skills challenge and more! In addition to this event, we host Jelly Bean Jog, End of Summer Splash and Campfire Christmas as our community outreach each year. While we see large attendance, we also join together with our community in Christian fellowship.

December 2019

Members from every service—including EPIC Youth—came together to participate in a Christmas celebration kick-off with the “Do You Hear What I Hear” music arrangement at the Traditional service which included voices, instruments, bells and more. While we have multiple worshipping communities at University Carillon, we are joined in mission as one church.

As we reflect over this past year, we can’t help but start dreaming for the next, and we want to be ready to begin strong in 2020. We need to receive a minimum of $310,000 in the month of December to balance out this year’s budget and be ready for next year’s goals.
