Book Discussion: The Shack
Where is God in a world filled with unspeakable pain? If you’ve ever asked yourself that question, The Shack, by William P. Young, would not only be a good read… but also a great opportunity to talk about this perplexing question. This novel—about how tragedy confronts eternity—has been loudly lauded and strongly criticized. Plan to purchase and read The Shack this summer and then let’s talk about it on Sunday, August 10.

Children

Summer Schedule
In order to regroup and reenergize for fall, children’s Sunday school classes will not meet during the month of July. (See the note below if you have children up to kindergarten age.) We hope you’ll enjoy this brief opportunity to worship together as a family.

During July, our children’s ministry team will be creating worship teams (and working with the band) for The Shack and The Clubhouse, developing curriculum, and training volunteers. Watch for great things in August... and pray about becoming part of the excitement!

Good things to know:
• If you filled out a card volunteering to help in summer classes (thank you to all who did!) you’ll be personally contacted.
• During July the nursery will be expanded to accommodate all children through kindergarten age.
• KIDS: Save your Bible Bucks for the Big Back-to-School Shopping Spree!

FLUMCH Gift and Collection

• We’ve received a live oak from the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home to be planted here, in honor of the celebration of the Children’s Home’s 100th birthday.

• When you’re shopping for school supplies, pick up extra for the Children’s Home. The Home’s 85 kids need notebook paper, pencils, pens, folders, glue sticks, etc., as well as clothing: jeans, shirts, jackets, underwear, socks and shoes. We’ll collect materials during the month of August, culminating in our fifth Sunday offering on August 30–31.

IHN Thanks YOU!
Thanks to your generous donations and volunteer efforts we were able to provide a relaxing and comfortable home for the families this past week. Many new volunteers learned how easy it is to be part of this close to home mission. If you would like to get involved, watch for information about upcoming host weeks in September and November (Thanksgiving week). The next training session for hosts will be at Spirit of Joy (Rouse and Colonial) on Thursday, July 31st at 7:00 pm. If you have not yet attended training or need a refresher, this one hour session is easy, informative and just around the corner. Please RSVP to or call 407-249-9297 if you plan to attend.

First-Weekend Food Pantry
Help us keep food and supplies in the pantry at Christ to the Nations Church (led by Pastor Jaime Faberllé). The first weekend of each month (on Communion days), we’ll accept donations for the pantry. This month we are collecting for the homeless minisry. Please consider filling the bag found in your bulletin and bringing it back with you next weekend!
